USGBC Virginia's Community Leader Awards celebrate excellence in high-performance, healthy design and building, environmental stewardship, and community impact, and serve to highlight the green building initiatives of USGBC Virginia community projects, businesses and local members. They recognize building owners and project teams for their extra effort to accomplish LEED certification for their buildings,  and honor the people and organizations who are working to create better buildings and better lives for all in Virginia.

Project awards will be given in multiple categories. In order to qualify in most categories, projects must have been LEED-certified between January 1, 2020 and September 16, 2022. Projects must be located within the USGBC Virginia community territory. Projects that received USGBC Virginia awards in 2020 or 2021 were not eligible to apply in the category they already won, but were allowed to apply in another category. There is a $50 application fee to submit a nomination for a project award.

Individuals and organizations who have gone above and beyond in their support of USGBC and advancing green building in Virginia are recognized with our Green Leader awards, which are also given in multiple categories. There is no fee to submit a Green Leader award nominiation.

The nomination deadline has now passed. Sign up for our USGBC Virginia e-newsletter to be notified when we open our 2023 Call for Nominations.
