USGBC Virginia announces 2022 Community Leader Awards Celebration Keynote Speakers

Updated: Oct 31, 2022

USGBC Virginia is pleased to share that our keynote speakers for our 2022 Community Leader Awards celebration will be Virginia House Delegate Rip Sullivan and Dawn Oleksy, Climate Action Program & Operations Supervisor for the City of Richmond. Delegate Sullivan was a leader in the movement to pass the Virginia Clean Economy Act in 2020. His remarks will address the process of getting this bill passed and his assessment of its current and future impact. Dawn Oleksy joins us as a speaker for the second time in 2022, having participated in our popular Women in Green: Rising Collective panel this past spring. Ms. Oleksy will share her perspective as a green leader working to implement sustainability programs at the city level and will discuss equity and the Richmond Climate Plan.

Our annual Community Leader Awards recognize excellence in high-performance, healthy design and building, environmental stewardship, and community impact and honor the people, organizations, and projects leading the way in Virginia. Award recipients will be acknowledged on November 16 in a statewide online ceremony, with in person watch parties taking place in Richmond, Charlottesville and Norfolk. You can learn more about and register for the awards ceremony here.
